que triste penaThis one was born immediately and with no editing on a car drive as I was grieving over an emotional break with my sister. It was the first original song I ever wrote in Spanish. Things have since healed with my sister, but this was the prayer, the lament, that expressed my sorrow after visiting her. I pulled over at a restaurant off the highway and recorded the whole song on my phone, then sent it to James. By the time I got home, he had the music ready for me and we played it once together, looked at each other, and said… “whoa…” -- Anna
lyrics © Anna Hungerfield-Lynch Qué triste pena que no me dejes entrar Siempre te he querido y lo niegas, mi amor Que sueños más tristes tengo sobre ti Que sueños más alegres si creyeras en mí Te digo te digo te digo Que te quiero te quiero te quiero Lo niegas, niegas, niegas Y me dijiste que me fuera Qué triste pena que no ves mi amor Te digo millón de veces pero niegas mi candor |
